- : Granted, they are. But for those who want it, you still won't be able
- : to upgrade a Courier to have a display which some people like to have
- : (and some don't care--but I'm not talking about those people).
-
- I did say "other than the alphanumeric display"... I find that handy on
- the Supra but not needed on the Courier. My Courier has always been
- pretty solid and I know can find out what speed by dropping to command
- mode if I suspect a problem. The Supra has a tendency to be more volatile
- online and the speed can vary wildly so I like to check it from time to
- time and the display makes it easier.
-
- : Once Supra upgrades their modems to 33.6, who knows what else the new
- : datapump upgrade may include: like more of the v.34 options and fixes
- : of problems known with the regular 28.8 v.34 datapump. And even if
- : the upgrade costs $100, it'd still be approx $70-$100 cheaper than a
- : Courier.
-
- Think they'll stop defaulting to not monitoring line conditions and not
- initiating retrains? (Check the default setting of %Ex)
-
- Yes, even if the upgrade costs $100, the Supra will still be a cheaper
- modem...
